Dr GEORGANTIS George M.D. PhD.
Was born in Chios and finished his basic education in the 1st Lyceum of Chios, which is the oldest school in Greece. He graduated from the Medical Faculty of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece in 2003. After finishing his military service and his rural medical duty, he started his residency in 2007, in the 1st Department of Surgery of Papageorgiou University Hospital, in Thessaloniki, Greece. During his training he passed 1 semester in the department of Vascular Surgery, and 1 semester in Thoracic Surgery. He successfully passed the exam of his speciality and was awarded the title of Specialist Surgeon in 2012.
He defended successfully his PhD Thesis on the relationship between HPV infection and Oesophageal Cancer.
During his training he also participated and joined in the reseach programs of the following departments:
- From the 17th/10/2011 till the 7th/12/2011 in Rochester Medical Center N.Y. U.S.A.
- From the 1st/5/2011 till the 4th/6/2012 in the department of I.C.U. of the Papageorgiou University Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece.
He participated in Laparoscopic Training Courses organised by the Royal College of Surgeons in the U.K. and in Greece. He also followed seminars on Breast Surgery and Parenteral Nutrition. Finally he is an ATLS Cerfified Surgeon.
He is teaching courses in the workshop of clinical skills of the Medical Faculty of Aristotle University and he participates in the organisation of therapeutic protocols. He is a scientific collaborator of the 1st department of Surgery of the Aristotle University since 2012.

- Minimally Invasive Surgery
- Breast Surgery / Endocrinologic Surgery
- G.I.T. Surgery (Bowel, Rectum, Stomach, Liver, Biliary, Pancreatic and intestinal issues)
- Benign issues (Hernias/Cutaneous lesions).
He is an active member of the International College of Surgeons.
